This film is based on a novel of the same title written by Laura Esquivel. The author adapted his work for the cinema in 1992 and Alfonso Arau performed their production. The main characters are Tita (Lumi Cavazos), Pedro (Marco Leonardi) and Mama Elena (Regina Torné). The story happens in Mexico at the end of decinueve century and the early years of the twentieth century.
Tita is the last of three daughters of Mama Elena and is forced to care for his mother to death. This implies that Tita can not marry and therefore can not maintain relations with her only love and boyfriend Pedro. It is a film about love, tradition, passion, and communication.
The kitchen becomes a place where freedom of establishment and Tita can show their love and their wishes through exquisite dishes. The film presents the influence of the magic and mysticism with the allegory of the food, while also deals with political events such as the Mexican Revolution, the status of women, and machismo.I love this movie because one of the ways in which they can express their feelings is the protagonist across her meal, which also became a means to express their love.

I think that this film is very good because but of the central point of the history that is love of Tita and Pedro, it is possible to be seen that the kitchen is very suceptible of the feeling that we put in doing what we do
